Overview

SPEX+ is an environmental design software for designing buildings, floor layouts, and house plans. Students design in 2D plan, and view their creations in 3D isometric form. With the aid of a built-in spreadsheet, SPEX+ enriches the learning experience by reinforcing concepts such as budgeting, scaling, plotting graphs, mathematics, and geography. It can be used as the core or supplement to a variety of math and science based curriculums.

Multiple environments can be added to expand versatility as well as tailoring the software to suit specific classroom topics. For example, the Moonbase environment can be used in place of the Home Environment for topics that are science related. Students can now be challenged to use SPEX+ to investigate how life can be sustained in space.
